Description:

What you’ll do:

As an Outside Sales Representative in the building materials retail sector, you’ll play a vital role in driving revenue growth by cultivating strong relationships with new and existing customers. You’ll be the key point of contact for clients, helping them find solutions for residential, agricultural, and commercial building projects, including prefabricated Ready-to-Move (RTM) homes and farm buildings.

Duties will include:

  • Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Proactively seek new business opportunities by identifying and engaging potential customers in construction, farming, and development sectors.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, farmers, developers, and homeowners by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Project Consultation: Guide clients through the selection and planning process, from design concepts to final delivery.
  • Product & Service Promotion: Promote the full range of building materials, construction supplies, and services offered by the company.
  • Quoting & Estimating: Prepare accurate and competitive quotes, considering material costs, timelines, logistics, and customer specifications.
  • Territory Management: Organize and manage your sales territory effectively, including scheduling site visits, attending trade shows, and networking within the industry.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Home Centre Managers, estimators, designers, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Insight: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to help shape future sales strategies.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing and:

  • You have 5+ years of sales experience in building materials and/or construction.
  • You have a genuine passion for sales and the ability to pursue sales through cold calls and in-person visits.
  • You’re knowledgeable and familiar with lumber/building materials and home/building construction/projects.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to engage customers and execute long/short term sales strategies to close a sale.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
