Who We Are:

At Pembina Co-op, our vision is simple: “To positively impact our communities” and we are guided by these four core values:

What the Trainee Program Looks Like:

Think of this role as your fast track to becoming a Home Centre Manager and running your own store! You’ll work closely with experienced managers, learn the ins and outs of our operation, and get involved in real leadership responsibilities right from day one.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Every day will bring something different, and you will get to:

  • Lead and learn: Learn what it means to be a leader and how to run your own store
  • Understand the business: Learn about sales, expenses, margins, and what makes a store thrive
  • Connect with your community: Build relationships and represent Pembina Co-op with pride
  • Support your team: Learn how to build, coach, and motivate a team so that you are someone that people look up to
  • Keep things running smoothly: Merchandising, inventory control, store standards – you’ll learn it all.
  • Promote safety: Make sure your team has a safe and supportive place to work
  • Working with great mentors: Work side by side with experienced leaders to build the confidence and skills needed to eventually manage your own store!

What We’re Looking For:

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Real life experience in building materials and/or hardware
  • Some retail leadership experience (not a deal breaker)
  • Solid people skills and a friendly, outgoing, and approachable personality
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • A positive, anything is possible attitude,
  • Honest, reliable, and put your best into everything that you do
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and take on challenges
  • A willingness to re-locate where there is opportunity — we have 5 locations in Souris, Oakbank, Pilot Mound, St. Leon and St. Claude — this could be training for any one of those locations!!

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Great Work-Life Balance: Paid sick and vacation time, flexible and varied schedule
  • Terrific Financial Perks: Great wages and benefits package (life insurance, short/long term disability, health and dental, and pension plan)
  • Growth Built In: You’ll get training, learning opportunities, and a clear path to a leadership role
