What you'll do:

Reporting to the Food Store Manager, the Meat Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of tasks and will be accountable for planning the direction of the meat/deli department. This position plays an integral role in assisting the Food Store Manager achieve budgeted goals related to sales, margin, expenses, and inventory and execute sales strategies that support Pembina Co-op’s vision. Achieving established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery as well as identifying areas for improvement.

Key Job Responsibilities include:

  • The successful candidate will provide an exceptional level of customer service, providing information, assistance, eye appealing displays and pricing of product.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operation while adhering to all company, industry, and governmental policies, procedures, and standards, including meeting established productivity standards.
  • Responsible for ordering and preparation of meat, fish and seafood including cleaning, cutting, filleting, and trimming.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in compliance Pembina Co-op’s Health & Safety program and government food and sanitation standards.
  • Training of existing and new team members when necessary, and any other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • You have a valid Class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation;
  • You have experience working independently and you are an ambitious self starter;
  • You have the ability to work effectively within a team;
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, providing for effective leadership and coaching of others;
  • You have strong organization and planning skills;
Note: Journeyman Meat Cutter Certificate is not required but would be an asset.
  • MUST be dependable AND reliable, having the ability to work a FLEXIBLE schedule that changes based on business needs (includes working evenings and weekends – based on store hours of operation)
