Sustainable Roots
March 4, 2024

Pembina Co-op is proud to announce that our tree planting initiative is back for 2024!

Sustainable Roots is a reimbursement grant that was created to enhance green spaces in our communities. Since 2021 we have planted trees in over 15 different locations throughout our trading area.

At Pembina Co-op we know that change begins in our backyard. This is why we are committed to making changes today that will create a better tomorrow.

"We give back to our communities in so many ways, this was an opportunity for us to not only give back to our communities, but to give back to the environment in a meaningful way!" stated Becky Switzer - People, Culture & Communications Manager.

As a part of the refreshed name we have reviewed our guidelines for the grant as well!

Here is everything you need to know about the Sustainable Roots Grant:

  • Application Process: Apply through Do Some Good between March 1  31.
  • Notification: Groups will be notified of their status no later than April 12, 2024
  • Approval: YAY! A select number of groups will be approved up to $1500 for the purchase of trees. If your group has been selected as one of our recipients we will e-mail you with all the information to plan a tree planting day.

Please note, this is a reimbursement grant. This means that you will be required to purchase the trees up front and we will reimburse the cost up to $1500.

We look forward to helping your group add some colour into your community!
