What you’ll do:

The Assistant Manager will work with the Food Store Manager to become proficient in all areas of the Food store operation as well as complete training programs as required. The successful candidate shall demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Provide leadership and assists the Store Manager with the development and achievement of financial results and budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses and profits within established guidelines
  • Assists the Store Manager with operational direction and supports the implementation of programs and policies.
  • Applies a broad-based level of operational knowledge, commodity direction and managerial skills to achieve established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery.
  • Act as a liaison and public relations representative within the community, monitoring member satisfaction levels and participates in the development of products and services to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Assists the Store Manager with leadership in the area of employee relations, hiring, training, development, recognition and discipline
  • Assists the Store Manager with leadership in the area of asset protection and health & safety

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Food Store Management and:
  • You have Grade 12 education
  • Preferred post-secondary education in business related courses
  • You have relevant customer service experience of at least 3 years and preference for at least 1 year of leadership experience
  • You are honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
