With various commodities, Pembina Co-op has several opportunities to employ students who are looking for work after school and/or on weekends.  We also have seasonal opportunities for those experience individuals looking to keep busy!!

Customer Service — LUMBER

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Operation of mechanical forklift and delivery vehicle (various sizes);
  • Manual lifting (up to 50lbs) and movement of various yard and store products;
  • Assisting customers and co-workers;
  • Receiving and stocking inventory.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 drivers license, or a reliable method of transportation in order to report to work;
  • Previous yard related experience is an asset;
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently;
  • Must be willing and able to work.

Customer Service — HARDWARE

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Daily operations in the Hardware Department;
  • Ordering and receiving hardware, includes manually lifting and carrying;
  • Stocking shelves, merchandising and store displays;
  • Inventory control.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 drivers license, or a reliable method of transportation in order to report to work;
  • Experience working independently and an ambitious self starter;
  • Ability to work effectively within a team;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Must be willing and able to work.

GAS BAR ASSOCIATE

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide pump island and sales area product with superior service to customers in a courteous, efficient manner and within approved programs, policies and procedures;
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties;
  • Operate the cash register and other equipment as required.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 drivers license, or a reliable method of transportation in order to report to work;
  • Strong math skills and basic computer skills;
  • Excellent customer relations skills;
  • Highly motivated self starter, with the ability to work individually and as a contributing team member;
  • Must be willing and able to work.

SEASONAL AGRO

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivery and filling of NH3 tanks;
  • Fertilizer blending;
  • Shipping, receiving and delivery of chemicals and fertilizer;
  • General routine maintenance of equipment.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 drivers license, able to operate either a 1 tonne or ¾ tonne truck;
  • Experience working independently and an ambitious self starter;
  • Ability to work effectively within a team;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in operating and maintenance of heavy equipment would be a definite asset.

NOTE: Training is provided for working with and transporting NH3.
